Perfection in orthodonticsWhen building with Lego blocks, if identical parts and a precise construction plan are used, a final result can be achieved that will be the same regardless of who assembles the blocks. This result can be reproduced and repeated one time after the other if the same blocks and the same plan are used. We make this parallel because some patients have unrealistic expectations of orthodontics when they expect to achieve a “perfect” result that is completely predictable and achievable every time. Just as with a Lego game, we must deal with several “parts” or components; dentition, muscles, jaws, joints, growth, cooperation, etc., but these elements can present an extreme variation from one individual to another so that, although we treat problems that seem similar, the results can vary from one person to another. |

Orthodontics is a bit like Lego blocksIn orthodontics, we also have our “construction plan” (treatment plan) that guides us in achieving treatment objectives but, unlike Lego construction, this plan will not lead to the same results from one person to another, even if we have identical “parts” at the beginning. |
